ANNOUNCEMENTS: “SONSHINE” COFFEE FELLOWSHIP Would you like to help provide Coffee Fellowship time after the 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning service this summer? It will only require twenty minutes of your time: 10 minutes before for setup, 10 minutes after for takedown. Beginning Sunday, May 25, we will need volunteers to help us with this service. We’ll have the coffee made and the supplies on hand. If you’re interested in helping, please call the office to select a Sunday to serve (651-451-2400) or use the sign-up sheets that will be provided in upcoming Sunday bulletins. Thank you!
DONATIONS FOR GRADUATING SENIORS The Social Ministry Team would like to put together a gift bag from our congregation to each of our 14 graduating high school seniors. Anyone wishing to donate items may drop them off in the church office by Sunday, May 25th. Please include your name with your donation. If you have questions or need ideas, contact a member of the Social Ministry Team.
KAPOSIA DAYS Looking ahead to June, we will need a committee to work on this event and walk the parade route. A truck, a flat bed trailer and a generator for sound equipment may be needed. Does this sound like an event that you can get excited about? Are you filled with ideas that you would like to share? Do you have items to donate for this? Please contact Carol at 455-3441 or leave a message in the church office.
SIGN-UP SUNDAY Our Mission & Growth Team has chosen the last Sunday of each month to be the day that each person within our church can decide to use their gifts to continue the mission of our church. A table will be set-up in the Social Hall for signing up for tasks that keep the church running smoothly. You will be signing up for the following month. The lists will be for greeters, ushers, lay readers, Communion servers and Communion set-up and clean-up. Please check your calendars before coming to church on the last Sunday of each month. These lists will always be on the kiosk in case you miss “Sign-Up Sunday”.
GREETING & WELCOME There are many times when we all need to step up our efforts to welcome. When a Baptism takes place at our church, a number of family members come for the Baptism. This is a good time to reach out, invite to coffee and say a few kind words. During the Holidays (Lent and Easter are coming) we have many guests that come for special days. During coffee time, if you see someone sitting alone, introduce yourself and ask if you can join them. Greet people in the parking lot and make small talk as you walk up to the church. If you arrive at church and see no greeters on duty and you have nothing pressing to do, please step up and be that greeter. Be kind to others as you would want them to be kind to you. Greeter’s guidelines will be available on the kiosk, and if you have signed up to be a greeter, the guidelines and a greeter list will be mailed to you sometime in February.
RECYCLING OPPORTUNITIES Want to help LMC and the environment? There are marked boxes in the coatroom at the church for the following items: · Used printer cartridges · Used cell phones
PRAYER CHAIN Did you know that you can call Mary at the church office (451-2400) and we can put you on our prayer list? God listens to all prayers. They may not be answered the way we want, but we always receive strength for each day.
Should you be interested in praying for others and becoming a “Prayer Partner,” contact Corinne Dahl at 455-5971 or Jean Kandt at 455-5528. |
