PROJECT HOME

Sunday, May 4^th at 9:45 a.m. there will be a planning meeting in the lounge. The week of July 20^th through July 26th we will again have the chance to do as Jesus did in serving others who are homeless. We serve at the homeless shelter at First Presbyterian. Watch for sign-up sheets and more details in the June Messenger. Please mark these dates on your calendar.

 

PHEASANT & WILD GAME DINNER

Sunday, May 4 is the date for our fifth annual Wild Game Dinner. Many of our “hunter” members will be cooking some of their favorite dishes with side dishes and dessert. You won’t go away hungry! It starts at 5:30 p.m. so get it while it’s hot!

 

SENIOR MEMBERS MAY LUNCHEON

NOTE:  The date has been changed for the May Senior Members gathering due to the Rummage Sale taking place in our Social Hall. We will be gathering on Friday, May 9 at Old Country Buffet in West St. Paul for our last get together until next Fall. Please arrive around 11:30 a.m. and pay as you come. The discounted cost for seniors is approximately $8.00.

 

MISSION FUTURE 4 KIDS

Pentecost Sunday, May 11th will be the launch date of this new opportunity. Being Pentecost Sunday is a day to celebrate hope, a hope evoked by the knowledge that God through His Holy Spirit is at work among His people. It is a celebration of newness, of recreation, of renewal of purpose, mission, and calling as God’s people. It is a celebration of God’s ongoing work in the world. Yet, it is also a recognition that His work is done through His people as He pours out His presence upon them. As families are a focus of our church, we want to celebrate families by offering Mission Future 4 Kids investing for our children being baptized. Find out how you can donate to this new mission on Pentecost Sunday.

 

MOTHER’S DAY – MAY 11

A big, huge “HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY” to all of you Mom’s out there! God bless you and hope your Mother’s Day is as “special” as you are!

 

ACTION DAY IS BACK

Our last Action Day for the summer will be on Tuesday, May 13. We hope to finish our projects that day, so come on over and enjoy our “workshop”. Thank you to all who have helped this past year. (Lucy 451-2990)

 

ACTION EVENING

An Action Evening time to work on quilts is planned for Thursday, May 15 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Social Hall and everyone is invited to participate.

 

ALL CHURCH PICNIC

The Education Team will once again be hosting an all church picnic on Sunday, May 18 following the late service. This is also the last day of Sunday School. There will be a cake decorating contest with two categories, kids and adults. The cakes will then be used for the exciting cake walk. Wear your green LMC shirt and receive five free tickets. Hotdogs and all the fixings will be provided. Salads and desserts and other goodies will be brought by you. YUM! YUM!

 

CALLING ALL CAKE DECORATORS

Get ready … the annual cake decorating contest will take place on Sunday, May 18. We will have two categories, adults 12 and over, and kids, 12 and younger. We need lots of participants. The more cakes entered the more we have to use at the cake walk.

 

YOUTH SUNDAY

Please plan on being at church on Sunday, May 18, either service or both! The youth, ages 3 – 18, are working hard on planning an exciting worship service for you to enjoy. There will be awesome music, and more. After the 10:45 service, will be the All Church Picnic. Don’t miss it!

 

SSP CHORALETTES FUNDRAISER

 With a Little Help from Some “Little” Friends

The SSP Choralettes are having a fundraiser here at LMC on Sunday, May 18. The show begins at 3:30 p.m. followed by a nice hot meal at 5:00 p.m. We’ve invited the St. John Vianney Children’s Choir to participate. They’ll be dazzling you with some of their own performances as well as a “Disney Dazzle” medley being sung by both groups. A free-will offering will be taken. Come and enjoy some light musical entertainment and we’ll feed you too!  It’ll be fun!  Proceeds go towards providing the necessary funds needed to keep the SSP Choralettes a part of our South St. Paul heritage and community.  Hope to see many of you there! We appreciate your support!

 

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS COMING!

That’s right! Mark your calendar now for a fun week of day camp right here at Luther Memorial June 9 – 12. Camp counselors from Onomia will be here to host an exciting Vacation Bible School. Please invite your friends and neighbors to come and enjoy a great week of fun and activities to help us learn about how the Lord’s light shines in the darkness. Hope to see you there!
