WOW! WORSHIP WITH US ON WEDNESDAYS!

It all begins at 6:00 p.m. each Wednesday. It’s uplifting and informal. Come as you are and bring along a friend. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to share your faith and fellowship with others. We’ve got a nice, hot meal ready for you at 6:00 p.m. and the worship service is from 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. Come and check it out!

YOUNG ADULT FELLOWSHIP!

Please join Emily Birnstengel and David Loetscher Wednesday evenings for a Bible Study. This will take place in conjunction with WOW, Meal at 6:00 pm. There will be a special table reserved for our group. Worship is at 6:30 pm and then we will meet to have a Bible Study and discussion on how our Faith is an important part of our life. You could come for parts, a part, or all of it!! We are really excited about this and really hope you will join with us on this new adventure God is taking us! Come learn more about the Christian faith, how much God loves you, see old friends, meet new friends, and more! :)

ACTION DAY SUPPLIES

We are in need of some supplies for the School Kits that are put together on Action Days. The supply list for the kits has changed and we do have enough of some of the items, but need the following items to make the kits complete. Here is what is needed: 70 sheet notebooks (wide or college ruled), 12 inch rulers with inches and centimeters, pencil sharpeners, pencils and ball point pens. Any items you send would be greatly appreciated. Also if you are interested in making the bags that hold the supplies, there is a new pattern for them. If you are interested in sewing them, please call Jolene Pugh at 457-7772. Thank you in advance for your donations. The next Action Day is scheduled for Tuesday, February 14 at 9:30 a.m. Come and join us!

WISH LIST THERMOMETER

Please consider a donation to our Wish List Thermometer. Currently we are only $1,420 short on the Roof Repair and still in need of donations for the Sanctuary Projection System and Choir Room Piano. We thank you for your continued support. Please help us reach our Wish List goal. Thank you!

WALL OF OUR MILITARY HEROES BOARD

Susan Pugh is updating the Heroes Board in the Social Hall. We will only have pictures and information on our heroes (sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, nieces, nephews and neighbors), if you supply us with that information. Therefore, please contact Susan at (651) 455-5016, tuepughs@msn.com or leave your information in the church office marked to the attention of Susan Pugh. May our heroes be blessed to know that we care.

SHARE YOUR TALENTS!

God has blessed each and every one of us with special gifts and talents. Please consider sharing them with our youth of all ages … that means babies up to high-school seniors. Here are some ideas for you to prayerfully consider helping with:  Sunday School Teacher, Confirmation Guide, WOW volunteer, nursery helper, chaperoning a youth event (either for kids in 4-6 grade or 7–12 grade), leading a special event for example cooking or making cards, being a driver for confirmation outings, listening to children recite monthly Bible Verses and more. Our youth need all of us. Remember  the old saying … it takes a village to raise a child. That can translate into meaning it takes a whole congregation to develop a young person’s faith. Thank you in advance. Please contact Kay Therres at (651-457-0671) or by email sktherres@google.com our Sunday School Superintendent and Chair of the Youth Ministry Team if interested, or sign up on the bulletin board outside the nursery.

AUDIO/VIDEO VOLUNTEERS FOR WOW

Teenagers and Young Adults are extremely adept in working with all of the latest technologies in today’s world. Therefore, we’re hoping that some of you can help with our WOW technology set-up. Training on LMC’s equipment will occur and is quite simple for people of your skills. Please contact the office to let us know that you are willing to help:  lmc@luther-memorial.com or 651-451-2400. Thank you!

HAS YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER CHANGED?

If your telephone number has changed in the last few years, please be sure to let the church office know. Many folks have dropped their land lines and are strictly using their cell phones. It’s a good way to save money, but please don’t forget to inform the church so that your membership records can be updated.

E-MAIL ADDRESSES

Many of you have computers either at home or at work. Please send us your e-mail addresses.  All you need to do is put it:

                                                    TO:                    lmc@luther-memorial.com

                                                    SUBJECT:        Address

… and we’ll do the rest.  It would be a great way for us to communicate with you quickly and cost effectively. So the next time you’re sitting at your computer, remember LMC. It takes less than a minute. Thanks!

COLLECTING ALUMINUM POP CANS

We want to support families and their children by investing $50 in the Mission Investment Fund of the ELCA for each child that is baptized at LMC. The $50 is in the child’s name and matures when they turn 18. To keep replenishing the funds available for this mission, the Mission & Growth Team has decided to collect aluminum cans. A marked container is available outside next to the Bell Tower.  Please continue to bring in those empty cans to help contribute toward “Mission 4 Kidz Future”.

MEALS ON WHEELS STILL IN NEED OF YOUR HELP!!!!!!

We need substitute volunteers as well as regular drivers to help every 4th Thursday for a few hours.  It is a very small commitment of time for a very important program!  Please call Corinne Dahl at 651-455-5971 if you can help. Thanks!

CARDS

Get well and birthday postal cards will be placed in a basket on the Kiosk for your use. Names and birthdates are in the bulletin so please remember our shut-ins, college students and military personnel. They love to get mail. Postal cards postage is now 28 cents. Thank you!

RECYCLING OPPORTUNITIES

Want to help LMC and the environment? There are marked boxes in the coatroom at the church for the following items:

· Used printer cartridges

· Used cell phones

PRAYER CHAIN

Did you know that you can call Mary at the church office (451-2400) and we can put you on our prayer list? God listens to all prayers. They may not be answered the way we want, but we always receive strength for each day.

Should you be interested in praying for others and becoming a “Prayer Partner,” contact Corinne Dahl at 455-5971 or Jean Kandt at 455-5528.

Please call the Church Office at 651-451-2400 when . . .

· a member of your family is admitted to the hospital, so that a visit can be made

· your committee or group plans to have a meeting, so that it can be cleared and placed on the church calendar

· your home phone number and/or address has changed, so the church records may be corrected

· a new baby arrives in your family

· when a member of your family leaves home for college or to establish a new residence

· you feel the church can assist you in any way

· if you are unable to drive and need a ride to Sunday service and/or church functions
